About the Preparation Course for International Exams in Barcelona

Annually, numerous students from different parts of the world opt to undertake certain exams as a prerequisite for accessing higher education. The SAT in the United States, the EBAU in Spain, the Matura in Austria, or the renowned British exams A-Levels or GCSE are just a few examples of these globally recognized exams. At our institution, we offer a Preparation Programme designed to assist students in their Spanish language preparation for these significant exams.

Whether Spanish is your native language or a foreign language you are learning, and regardless of your proficiency level (whether beginner, intermediate, or advanced), our preparation programme provides you with all the necessary tools to successfully pass these exams.

Group Classes

Before commencing the Preparation Programme for International Exams in Spanish with us, you will undergo a preliminary assessment to place you in a group according to your level.

For instance, if you are not yet familiar with the CEFR levels (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), in an A2-level group, we will frequently address the contrast between past verb tenses, enabling you to gain proficiency in narrating biographies or historical events. In a B1-level group, you will explore the various uses of the present subjunctive and be able to express opinions and evaluations on artworks such as Picasso’s paintings or Gaudí’s creations, among others. At the B2 level, you will extensively practice constructing sentences introduced by “although” and accurately comment on texts like those of Rosa Montero. Finally, if you have an advanced command of Spanish, in a C1-level group, we will meticulously analyze the linguistic nuances you can employ when responding to excerpts from works by authors such as Arturo Pérez-Reverte, allowing you to stand out before the examiner.

Individual Classes

To bolster your confidence in facing the oral expression test, our preparation programme includes a variable number of individual sessions where you can delve deeper into and work on the topics covered in the official curriculum.

Regardless of your academic background, it is essential that you can express yourself fluently in oral communication and confidently discuss topics such as press freedom in Cuba or the portrayal of Pablo Escobar as a twentieth-century antihero. Through the individual classes comprising our study programme, you can personalize your learning experience and ensure a good performance in this section of the exam.

Cultural Activities

As an ideal complement to this specialized programme, you will have the opportunity to participate in our cultural activities in the afternoons. These activities will allow you to broaden your knowledge of Spanish art, history, and culture through visits to Madrid’s main museums or guided tours of the city’s most emblematic neighborhoods. If you choose to stay with one of our host families, your immersive language and cultural experience will be even more enriching as you fully immerse yourself in the Spanish language, culture, and daily life.

Now that you have all the necessary information, it is only left for you to decide on the duration of the programme and the number of individual sessions you would like to include in your study itinerary.
